amazing

Hi!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
We went to visit our friends in Zagorje and had a wonderful time...totally over ate!!!

This morning I received some happy mail....my sample sets arrived!!! :)

I had to make a card with them (even though I wasn't planning to)...I busted open my Wise Owl set...ahhh...just think of all the techniques one can do with this set! :)

I coloured the owl with my Graph'it markers.

This set (like all the sets I design) are hand drawn...on paper....you're literally getting my original hand drawing...I don't 'fix' it up after I scan it...just in case you were wondering. :)

I've been posting sneak peeks of my newest stamps and I thank all of you for your awesome comments...you are awesome!

skin care staples

Hi!
Hope all is well! :)

I wanted to share some skin care products I use and LOVE! I've changed up a few things.

First up is coconut oil! If I had to choose one skin care product it would be coconut oil...I use it to cleanse my face (takes off every last bit of make up), it's a moisturizer for the whole family...it's awesome! AND it doesn't hurt that I LOVE the smell of coconuts! ;) Oh and I eat it too!

I recently came across this pin and decided to give it a go since I already had some organic apple cider vinegar and I am shocked at how well it is working as a toner for my skin! It's amazing! I use equal part vinegar and water....now it does smell obviously like vinegar but it doesn't stay on the skin.  So far I'm really loving it! I know coconut oil, vinegar??? It's not everyone's cup of tea but it's working for me.

Another change I made in my skin care is that I'm using oils and serums to moisturize my skin and have noticed a difference. One of my favourite oils (besides coconut) is Argan and I'm using Primavera's Organic Argan Seed Oil. Another oil I love is Rosehip oil (I ran out and need to get more!). Another oil I want to try out is Avocado oil...heard it's lovely on the skin! :)

I don't like to wear foundation (only wore it maybe 5-6 times in my whole life) and prefer tinted moisturizers, BB creams or CC creams. I love La Roche-Posay's Anthelios XL tinted ultra-light fluid. I'd like to find a natural product for sun care (we don't have a good selection here in Croatia).

This next product I have mentioned on my blog and it's Nikel's Cocnut Butter. It's a multi purpose all over butter (a little goes a long way). I literally use it all over (body and face), all year round...it's just gorgeous! The one I have doesn't have carrot oil in it (which is very beneficial for taking care of your skin in the summer months, a natural protection) and as soon as I use up the one I have I will buy this one.

I was thrilled to see Weleda's Skin Food available here in Zagreb (Muller). A little goes a long way, if you like creams or lotions that absorb into the skin right away than you probably won't like this...but like I said a little goes a long way and I used this mostly on dry patches, as a hand cream before I go to bed, elbows, feet even on my face when I fell a tad dehydrated. It does have a strong herbal/natural smell (typical of Weleda) which might bother some people...I personally love the smell...smells like the spa (not that I've ever been to a spa but that's how I imagine it to be).

There are some more skin card goodies I will share at a later date, lots of them are natural and organic which is what I prefer...not everything I use is but I try my best.

Anyhow, hope you all have a lovely weekend!

colour + friday favourites

Hello!
Hope all is well!

Sharing some favourites...it's all about colour! It's funny because as much as I LOVE colour my home is very neutral and my closet consists of lots of black, grey and jeans!;) But that why most of my card are bright and colourful!

I'm just loving that night stand...what a gorgeous shade of pink!!! And I love the honeycomb pattern on the top drawer...what a great idea!

Do I even need to say anything?!!

Laura Bassen is one of my favourite card makers/crafter and this tag of hers....I mean it's like she had me in mind when she was making it!!!
L.O.V.E!

Oh my! I need to start wearing heels again...since I had my kids I literally stopped...I'm sorry but running after my kids in heels didn't feel like the right thing to do...but I'm thinking it's time Mama started wearing some pretty heels! ;)

That's it folks!! Hope you all have a lovely weekend. I'm hoping my JD sample stamp sets arrive sometime next week!!

for you

Hello!
Hope all is well!

I wanted to share a card today using my Life is Good stamp set! :)
I did lots of masking on the card with the strawberry and lemon slice.

I coloured with my Graph'it markers.
Because I wanted my mason jar to be that nice blue green glass, after I coloured in all my strawberries and lemons I gave it a light wash of the blue-green colour (I just lightly using long strokes coloured across the jar and it gives a slight tint...it shows much nicer in real life than in these photos).

Elderflower juice

Hello!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I was meaning to share my homemade elderflower juice (or syrup would be more accurate) recipe. My neighbor always makes these awesome homemade jams and preserves, a while back she offered me some of her elderflower syrup to make juice and I LOVE IT!!!! It's so refreshing. So about a month or so ago we both went on a hunt for elderflowers (we had a blast)...the recipe is very easy.

This is what you'll need:

approx. 35 elderflowers (nice big ones)
3 liters of boiled water (cooled)
3 kg of sugar (The rule is usually one kg of sugar to one liter of water...remember you're making a syrup)
80 gr of citric acid
gauze (to drain the flowers)

Wash your elderflowers and soak in the cooled (boiled) water for 12-24 hours (if you want a more intense taste than go ahead and soak for 24 hours, feel free to add some lemon slices or mint too).
Drain using the gauze (throw away the soggy flowers :) ), into the drained elderflower water add your sugar and citric acid. Stir through out the day...I literally just stirred here and there. Once the sugar has dissolved pour your syrup into clean bottles. To serve pour out a little of the syrup into your glass and add water and lemon slices...so refreshing! :)

This recipe could be altered all depending on your preference (more sugar, less sugar etc.)

friday favourites

Hello!
Hope all is well!
Time for my Friday favourites!! :)

LOVE the floor...if I can redo our this would be it!

I found this photo on countryliving.com talking about building character into a new home which is exaclty what I want to do. I just love the yellow cabinets with the wooden top (I believe the filing cabinet was a Goodwill find and was spray painted yellow and topped with plywood...brilliant!!!).

LOVE this shade of green!

Studio Calico's July mood board is just yummy!! I LOVE that globe!

sneak peek + a little update

Hello!

Hope all is well! :)

I just wanted to share a little sneak peek of a new JD stamp set. :) This set wasn't my idea, it was Judith's (she's a teacher) and I worked on it off and on but especially now that Judith is stepping down I wanted to finish it for her!

It all starts with a pencil and piece of paper! :)

I mentioned already the changes that are happening with JD and if everything goes well I hope for a release in August (it all depends on shipping since I will be shipping stamps all over the world...from Africa to England to the USA to Australia...). I apologize ahead of time if there are days where the shop is wonky...there are tweeks being made and you know how these things go!!

See ya tomorrow for my Friday favourites! :)

hello friend

Hello!

Hope all is well! (I really do...it's not just how I start my blog...from the heart!)

It's my turn on the JD blog and my very first sunflower at home inspired my card for today. Last night no sunflower...this morning..hello Mr. Sunflower! :)

Ain't he pretty! :)
For this card I used my Autumn Blessings and Cube It stamp sets. I was in a hurry (what's new man!!) so watercolors saved the day again. Just a light wash of blue to make my background, some strips of green for the grass. I stamped and cut out my sunflower and did a very simple and light wash of colour. Easy peasy! And I'm not using any special watercolors...regular grocery store bought watercolors that my kids use.

I adhered the sunflower and top strip of grass with foam dots for dimension.

This week I will (fingers crossed) order some brand new JD stamps! I can't wait to share!
Have a great day!!

lost your crafty mojo?

Hello!

Hope all is well! :)

It's my turn on the JD blog today and this is the card I'm sharing today! All but the base of the card was on hand...what do I mean you ask?? :)

When I lose my inspiration, can't make a card or draw to save my life I like to stamp images, colour them, cut them out and have them ready for when my mojo kicks in again. It really comes in handy making your own 'die cuts' with your stamp images....and it saves me time in the end too.

For this card the butterflies, little journal tabs were ready for use and the only thing I did was stamp the pattern on the card and the sentiment!

Lots of layering on this card and nothing really adhered totally flat...I think it adds motion, dimension to the card when layered in this manner.

Before I go I just wanted to mention that I'll be doing another JD update on the blog soon....talk a little more about the changes that are going on!
Hope you have a great day!

Father's Day recap + card

Hello!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

For Father's Day we spent the afternoon at Maksimir park (love going there). Marko and Mia rode their bikes and hung out in the park while Jakov and Adrian played soccer of coarse! :) Mia got to test drive her new bike that she choose herself...pink of coarse! :)

I also have a card to share today....I had a few flowers I had stamped and cut out from previous projects (that I didn't end up using) and they were laying on my desk clustered together and looking at them I thought ...wow..that's pretty! :) Don't you love when that happens...by accident! :)

I used my Pretty Peonies, Roses, Cube It, Autumn Blessings and a brand new set (that still has not been released). I added foam dots to the pink peony and green leaf for dimension and I didn't adhere the other flowers so that they were flat on the card.

Pop on over to the Jane's Doodles blog and check out Aga's sweet tag and gift wrapping!

Have a great day! xo
