39

Hello!

It's my birthday today...39! I'm not one of those who gets all stressed about getting older. I'm grateful for all 39 years..for my health and my family and their health. Anyways I wanted to celebrate with a little giveaway...it's little but from my heart. I'm giving away my Home Sweet Home stamp set (I hope you don't mind that it's a sample...it's perfect, nothing wrong with it...just no packaging) and two products I can't live without...especially during the colder months.

Here's a sorry a** selfie I tried to do (about two months ago)...I give up on those! But I thought it would be fun to write some facts about myself...

1. I was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, grew up in Canada and moved to Croatia when I finished highschool.

2. I panic!!! I'm panicky...just call me Mrs. Panic! My uncle, God bless him, always wanted me to be a flight attendant...can you picture that!!!! A little turbulance and the flight attendant is frozen with fear! :)

3. Out of the Friends cast Monica, Rachel and Phoebe I am most like Phoebe!

4. I wanted to be an actress when I was little...in elementary school I was in so many plays and totally ROCKED it! LOL When I went to highschool I became very shy!

5. I taught English for a couple of years before I got married.

6. I talk to myself...or as I like to say it...'think out loud'! :)

There you go...nothing too exciting...hence the blog name plain jane! :) So if you'd like to participate in my giveaway which is open internationally please just leave me a comment and I'll announce the winner on Monday! xo

Franck Cafe Zimski Cappuccino

Edit: I'm having problems uploading my project...as soon as I do I will provide a link. :)

Hello!

I am entering my project to the Franck Cafe Zimski Cappuccino competition....basically you're suppose to use the Cappuccino box and create a Christmas project...I'm all for recycling. I wanted to create something different...and when I saw this on Good Housekeeping I thought it was the perfect project! I basically drew the template myself (looking at the original) obviously a lot smaller than the original, traced it onto the cappuccino box and cut all my pieces out. I added some glitter on the antlers and made my wreath out of green cardstock. I really love how it turned out...it's so much nicer in real life...the lighting is terrible (we've got some major fog here in Zagreb...it's so dark outside).

I would really appreciate it if you would vote for my project...go here if you wish to do so. :)

If you have any questions on how I created this (the instruction on Good Housekeeping is pretty straight forward but if there's anything else you're curious about) please ask! P.S. I will add a Croatian text to this post soon. :)

Have a great day! xo

TGIF

Hello! Hope all is well!

I'm feeling better...still not 100% but much better! I've been working on lots of Christmas projects....all the Christmas cards I make I donate to raise money for those in need so no one ever gets cards from me! LOL I don't think they mind knowing 'their' card is helping someone in need! :)

Here's a peek at one of our new stamps...love this background! :)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! :)

p.s. the stamps I used are Jane's Doodles

diy candy canes

Hi!

I'm back with a tutorial....diy candy canes! :) Warning...these are NOT the eating kind...unless you enjoy the taste of clay and glitter! :)

For my candy canes I used Fimo (polymer clay). It's quite simple...take equal parts red and white clay and roll into logs (trying to keep them even). Take your logs and twist them gently, then place them on your work surface and gently roll them together...then twist a bit and roll again. Shape them, cut off the ends and bake (I put them on aluminum foil to bake)! Once they have baked and cooled I like to add glitter...I prefer the chunky clear kind (looks like sugar) but I didn't have that on hand for this tutorial. Cover your candy canes with glitter glue (glossy accents works awesome) and coat with glitter, let dry! They look so yummy on my tree! :) And you can also adjust the size...they would make sweet embellishments for wrapping up presents or for your Christmas card.

Let me know if you have any questions! :) Have a great day! xo

celebrate the season

Hello! I hope you all had a lovely weekend...we did! :)

I did a project with my kids...diy toilet paper roll snowmen...Mia of coarse wanted a pink hat and scarf for her snowman (I crocheted the hats and scarves...I used the half double crochet stitch...pretty much winged it...if you'd like me to show you how I crocheted the hat and scarf just let me know!)...

I instagramed this one... I had the kids paint the rolls white, then they mod podged the rolls and covered them with white glitter. I made the noses out of polymer clay, found some twigs outside (poked holes and glued them in place)....and we just glued everything in place...they are very pleased with their snowmen! :)

Pop by the Jane's Doodles blog to check out my card for today's post...and a quick reminder that all our Christmas clear and digital stamps are on sale! :)

Have a great day! xo
