summer favourites

I know, you're thinking summer favourites??? It's FALL Jane! I was planning on sharing my summer favourites but with my mama here I put the blog and work aside.

So! Here are my favs!

For a body moisturizer I've been loving (and will continue to use all year round) is Alverde's Coconut Oil. When I get out of the shower while my skin is still damp I slather this goodness and my skin is velvet! And the price is awesome.

I cleanse my face with oils but when we went on summer holidays I wanted something a little less complicated (when cleansing with oils or balms you need a face cloth etc.) so I remembered using Nuxe's Face Cleansing and Make Up Removing Gel Reve de Miel years back and being happy with it.

I don't wear a lot of make up any time of the year especially during the hot summer month. I wear a tinted moisturize or BB/CC type cream, mascara and lipstick. And two lipstick shades I've been loving are Ilia's Neon Angel and Alverde's Dusty Pink. LOVE! I was so impressed with Alverde's lipstick because it's very inexpensive but the colour payoff and lasting time are brilliant.

For sun protection I used La Roche Posay's Anthelios XL 50+ Ultra Light tinted moisturizer.

Weleda's Coldcream is so soothing on my skin. My face at times felt tight, dehydrated (from the sun and salt water) so I would in the evening after cleansing my face put this coldcream (very little goes a long way) and it's like my skin would go 'Aaahhhh'!

I don't wear a lot of perfume (gives me a headache) but Lavanila's Vanilla Grapefruit is one of my favourites for summer and the rollerball is great for travel.

I cannot live without my Burt's Bees lip balm. The peppermint is the only one I use. LOVE!

I also bought a mini Clinique High Impact Mascara (travel size) to take on summer holidays and at first I was like..what?!! Really Clinique!! The formula was so wet and it did nothing for my eyelashes. But after using it for a while I suppose the formula dried out a little and then it was perfect! I LOVE it now! Lengthens, thickens my eyelashes...just love it! I heard a tip somewhere that if your mascara is very wet then leave it open for a bit to get some air in the tube.

I am a t-shirt and jeans (or leggings...even better) gal and I love these jeans I bought at Zara. They fit really well...although they did stretch out...I didn't loose weight so it's gotta be the jeans which is unfortunate because I LOVE them. My mom didn't share my enthusiam...she doesn't think there's any logic in buying a pair of jeans that at ripped! LOL! She's old school. I'm almost tempted to buy her a pair....knowing her she'd whip out her sewing kit!

The top is also from Zara and I am now officially obsessed with stars! So there!

These wedges are soooooooo comfortable!! I haven't worn wedges in forever (in the summer I'm wearing flip flops)...and if it weren't for my sister in law buying the wrong size these babies wouldn't have come into my life! ;)

I already have some Fall favourites and will share them soon.

FOTD favourites

Hello!

I'm sharing (besides a bad photo) my FOTD (face of the day) products which pretty much is what I've been using throughout the summer. So if you rather see something crafty then I suggest you pop by the Jane's Doodles blog and check out Mariana's FAB card! :)

Let me just stress...I'm not a make up artist nor do I know anything about it!! This is just what works for me (and I'm not very good at describing colours, textures either).

My mom sent me Physician's Formula Organic Wear CC cream and I LOVE it! The coverage is awesome for a cc cream...I didn't expect that! The shade I'm wearing is Light/Medium. It's got an SPF 20. I put my La Roche Posay Anthelios XL 50 underneath (I have both tinted and non tinted....just running errands I'll wear the tinted with a little RMS Beauty uncover up under my eyes.

Bourjois's Volume Glamour Ultra Care mascara is one of my favourites. It's for sensitive eyes and I have no irritation when I wear it. It's a bit wet when you first use it but after a few time the texture is just right! :)

RMS Beauty Un Cover Up is one of my newest discoveries (I have shade 22)! I use it mainly for under my eyes (might I stress that I have horribly dark circles...totally genetic and need circus make up to make it disappear. Un Cover Up lighten the area and makes me look alive if you know what I mean). It's a gorgeous texture, full of natural, amazing ingredients. I ordered mine from Naturisimo (keep an eyes out for sales/deals..they have them often).

On my nails I pretty much wore Essie's Lapiz of Luxury the whole summer.

Another discovery is Sante Naturkosmetik (German brand). I was looking for a 'green' lipstick and came across this brand at Muller and so happy I did. It's a gorgeous pinky coral shade that brightens up my complextion. I love the texture...doesn't dry out my lips.

Another Sante product (which I don't use on my face but I added it in the photo) is their hand cream (Bio-Goji & Olive). Smells so good! Fruity but not a platic fruity smell (if you know what I mean). Perfect for the day time as it doesn't leave my hands greasy or anything.

Tart's blushes are one of my favourites! Dollface is the shade I've been wearing all summer long!

And most of the time I've got good ol' Burt's Bees lip balm on my lips!

Take care!

summer beauty favourites

Hello!
I hope all is well! :)

I'm popping in to share some beauty favourites I'm enjoying.

Nuxe BB cream - my favourite! Only bad thing is the SPF...it's spf 8 or something so I have to wear a higher spf under it (which really defeats the purpose of a BB cream) but other than that it's my favourite! It's got a strong scent (peaches) which doesn't bother me and it goes away. Evens out my skin tone and lasts all day on my skin.

Physician's Formula CC cream - my mom sent this to me and I love it! The coverage is great for a CC cream and it last pretty much all day on my skin.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios - I love the tinted version for everyday use. This is an oldie but a goodie!

Primavera - Argan oil. LOVE!

RMS Beauty Uncover Up - This is new to me. I L.O.V.E it! I use it under my eyes and anywhere else I need to conceal. The texture is so creamy...doesn't crease under my eyes and I ordered a back up! Enough said! I want to try their Lip&Cheek pots. I ordered mine (because I live in Croatia) from Naturisimo and loved the service.

Burt's Bees - I LOVE the peppermint one...love the tingle on the lips! The tinted one I have is in Rose..so pretty (I bought it in Muller).

Tarte blushes - My cousin from Canada brought me a new Tarte blush in Exposed...gor.ge.ous! I want them all is what I want! LOL! The other colour I have is Dollface. They are the only blushes I use.

Weleda Salt toothpaste - I absolutely LOVE this toothpaste! The first few times I used it I have to be honest and say I didn't know what to think...salty, doesn't foam...what?!! But now I'm hooked! I notice my husband reaching for it too! :)

Clinique Chubby Sticks - I've had these for a while now, my favourite everyday shade is Whole Lotta Honey. The other one I use is in Woppin' Watermelon. I'm on the hunt for new lipsticks and preferably 'green'. I've got my eye on Ilia and Red Apple lipsticks!

I forgot to add this to the mix. This I have been using for years on me, my husband, the kids...Lord knows the pets are next! lol!

Nikel Coconut Butter - This amazing Coconut Butter is natural goodness AND it's a Croatian product! It's got...are you ready...coconut butter, cocoa butter, olive oil, almond oil, sesame oil, sunflower oil, carrot oil and vitamin E! The MOTHER of all butters!

First off I have no idea why my hand (skin) looks green?? lol! And I'm too tired and have too much to do to take another photo! I have been wearing these two shade all summer long. I usually wear very neutral colours like Essie's Sand Tropez or dark colours like Essie's After School Boy Blazer. It's been forever since I've worn a red or a coral shade...I don't know why because I love seeing it on other girls/ladies...I don't know...

Collistar Gloss Nail Lacquer - I really love this formula...I've only tried these two colours and so far so good! Last longer on my nails than Essie (Essie lasts a day people! They have amazing colours but they just don't last with or without base and top coats!)...and that's with no base or top coat. Shade 558 reminds me of Essie's Splash of Grenadine. I'm wearing this colour.

Ok...nuff about lotions and postions onto a crafty sneak peek! Pop on over to the JD blog and check out Mariana's adorable card and details on today's flash sale! :)

Have a great day!

skin care staples

Hi!
Hope all is well! :)

I wanted to share some skin care products I use and LOVE! I've changed up a few things.

First up is coconut oil! If I had to choose one skin care product it would be coconut oil...I use it to cleanse my face (takes off every last bit of make up), it's a moisturizer for the whole family...it's awesome! AND it doesn't hurt that I LOVE the smell of coconuts! ;) Oh and I eat it too!

I recently came across this pin and decided to give it a go since I already had some organic apple cider vinegar and I am shocked at how well it is working as a toner for my skin! It's amazing! I use equal part vinegar and water....now it does smell obviously like vinegar but it doesn't stay on the skin.  So far I'm really loving it! I know coconut oil, vinegar??? It's not everyone's cup of tea but it's working for me.

Another change I made in my skin care is that I'm using oils and serums to moisturize my skin and have noticed a difference. One of my favourite oils (besides coconut) is Argan and I'm using Primavera's Organic Argan Seed Oil. Another oil I love is Rosehip oil (I ran out and need to get more!). Another oil I want to try out is Avocado oil...heard it's lovely on the skin! :)

I don't like to wear foundation (only wore it maybe 5-6 times in my whole life) and prefer tinted moisturizers, BB creams or CC creams. I love La Roche-Posay's Anthelios XL tinted ultra-light fluid. I'd like to find a natural product for sun care (we don't have a good selection here in Croatia).

This next product I have mentioned on my blog and it's Nikel's Cocnut Butter. It's a multi purpose all over butter (a little goes a long way). I literally use it all over (body and face), all year round...it's just gorgeous! The one I have doesn't have carrot oil in it (which is very beneficial for taking care of your skin in the summer months, a natural protection) and as soon as I use up the one I have I will buy this one.

I was thrilled to see Weleda's Skin Food available here in Zagreb (Muller). A little goes a long way, if you like creams or lotions that absorb into the skin right away than you probably won't like this...but like I said a little goes a long way and I used this mostly on dry patches, as a hand cream before I go to bed, elbows, feet even on my face when I fell a tad dehydrated. It does have a strong herbal/natural smell (typical of Weleda) which might bother some people...I personally love the smell...smells like the spa (not that I've ever been to a spa but that's how I imagine it to be).

There are some more skin card goodies I will share at a later date, lots of them are natural and organic which is what I prefer...not everything I use is but I try my best.

Anyhow, hope you all have a lovely weekend!
