Life's a Beach!

Hello! Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Here we go...continuing with my Croatia month! :)
The beach...ahhhhh the beach! :) When we go to Nin and Vrsi Mulo (where we stay with my aunt....Vrsi is about a 10 minute drive from Nin...my grandmother is from Vrsi) we like to go to the local beaches and not the touristy ones...and I suggest if visiting Croatia find out where the local beaches are and check them out.

This beach here where you can see my feet!! LOL is the beach where my mom as a child went to...I LOVE it...it's a sandy beach but in the water it's a mix of rock and sand.

Nin is also known for it's medicinal mud (peloid). It's located near the sandy Queen's beach and has been tested by thousands of people and is organized by one of Zadar's Health Institutions. It  treat various health issues such as rheumatic diseases, spinal deformalities, female infertility, skin disorders.....
My family had a go!! :) My husband couldn't get over how SMOOTH his skin was...he kept telling me to feel him up! LOL

I found this photo here! LOL my family wasn't as generous with the mud as this one! :)

This beach (below) is in Vrsi Mula (where my aunt is...she's three house up from this beautiful beach!!)...this is a pebble stone beach. (my two boys - Jakov the little shrimp standing in the water and Marko sitting next to him).

Mia jumped off this little pier about a million times! :)

We found this little treasure near the beach in Vrsi...Church of St. Jacob from the 11th century...my youngest was very excited because his name is Jakov (Jacob in English).

And just down from this beautiful church is a beach called the Coast of St. Jacob....Jakov thinks he owns the joint! :)

Hope you enjoyed this post...of coarse there's more to come! :) And there'll be a pop quiz at the end...just kidding...maybe a giveaway! :)

Nin part 3 - Church of St. Nicholas

Hello!

I'm back with more Nin!! :)

I'd like to share some photo of the beautiful Church of St. Nicholas (Crkva Sv. Nikole). Every summer we come here and every summer I have to snap a million pictures!!

This historical treasure is located in the fields of Prahulje. Seven kings were crowned in Nin and each crowned ruler rode on horseback to the Church of St. Nicholas to be presented to the people!

The sunset on this very spot is breathtaking!!

If I had super hero powers I would lift this beautiful church and put it next to my house and turn it into my office...huh...what do you think??! LOL

It was a special visit this time around because my oldest learned all about this church and the Croatian rulers so for him to actually be able to see and touch...it was awesome!

Have a great weekend!

cards and new JD stamps!

Hello!
Hope all is well!

I created two similar cards...for this one I didn't do any colouring...all I did was stamp the flowers (did some masking) and then with the same ink pad I just dabbed it onto my acrylic block and spritzed some water on it and took a small paint brush and added a touch of colour...simple and fast. I used my Pretty Peonies, Geometric Patterns and Croatian sentiments stamp sets.

For this card I did the same masking technique (which I did a video...you can check here)...but I coloured the flowers with my Graph'it markers.

Also....two new JD stamps sets are in the shop!! :) It'll be a small release (had some other stuff going on...the next release will be back to normal!) but a sweet one! :)

This first stamp set was designed by the talented Angeline!!

This set I drew up....I'd like you to meet Emma (who was inspired by my talented DT member Laura's daughter Emma and the boy is my youngest Jakov who did loose his very first tooth!!) This set is called...

So keep an eye out for the release....it's coming soon! :)
Have a great weekend!

random

Hello!
Hope all is well!

First to share this card I created using my Doodle Flowers stamp set. Did some simple colouring using my Graph'it markers and a little masking.

There are some new Bourjois goodies that I hope will be coming to Zagreb soon!! Like this Color Boost lip crayon in Peach on the Beach (don't you love the name!!) I'm a sucker for these chubby crayons!!

What is coming soon is Deborah Milano's Glossv Sticks...I will have to try them out....the colours are gorgeous!!

Also I heard great reviews on their new Bronzing Primer....which you could use as a bronzer.

I really hope their new cream blushers will come too! I LOVE cream blush.

My favourite has been Stila's but I've been using MaxFactor's Miracle Touch creamy blushes and LOVE them and are comparable to Stila's.
I bought this one yesterday in Soft Pink...it's looks bright but it really is soft once you blend it out.

That's it for now!
Take care!

Nin part 2 - The Church of the Holy Cross

Hello!

I can sit and look at this beautiful church all day....if I could have I would've gotten married in it!!! The Church of the Holy Cross is the smallest cathedral in the world. It's the most valuable preserved monument of the early Croatian religious architecture. Built in the 9th century it is the only religious object in Nin which has remained untouched.

My family going inside...we never tire of it!

We always pray inside...it's wonderful...always tear up! :)

Right next to this beauty is my cousin's restaurant Branimir....beautiful stone building, awesome food and service! :) And I'm not saying that because I get special service....I never reveal to the staff that I'm family! :)

If you are ever in Nin I recommend eating at this restaurant....go and sit on the veranda and enjoy the view of the smallest cathedral in the world!

Have you ever been to Nin?

Well...that's it for today.....lots more tomorrow....I warned ya'll that it's going to be Croatia month on my blog! :)
