diy toilet paper bat

Hello!
I wanted to share this little easy diy toilet paper bat project I plan to do with my kids...I got the idea from seeing this on Pinterest.

First take your toilet paper roll and bend the top (I adhere some glue dots so the tops stay down) and paint (I did two coats).

Cut out the wings (I tried to upload the bat wing template I drew but blogger ain't having it so you'll have to go here to get the template, make sure to resize the template.) and you don't have to but I stamped polka dots (from my Doodle Flowers stamp set) on them (you can add glitter, heat emboss..)

Fold the wing, and glue/adhere it on the sides.

Add some googly eyes....

CARDS magazine publication

Hope all is well! It's a gorgeous sunny day here in Zagreb. Hope it's sunny where ever you are! :)
I wanted to share a card of mine that was published in CARDS August issue....

I don't know about you but I'm pretty bummed that all these magazines have gone digital...I refuse to read a book on an ipad or one of those ipad thingy's that's for reading books....NEVER!!! I know, I konw, never say never...but I'm a paper and pencil gal and I hope that'll never change! I think having the option is great...we're all different but when I read I get myself a REAL book...I want to feel the paper! Anyways...here's the card!

I used my Home Sweet Home stamp set and paper pieced all my stamped images. I then distressed them with Tim Holtz distress inks.

My first born is 11 today!!! I think just looking at his face you can tell he's the sweetest soul!! Gentle and kind...love him!

diy paper leaves + free leaf template

Hello!
I have been running errands all day....literally left the house 6 times!!!!!!!! Finally sat down to finish this post! :) It's feeling like Fall here...little sad that summer is ending but I do LOVE Fall! :) So I drew up a template of some leaves...what I ususally do is print out the template onto thicker cardstock, cut the leaves out and then keep them in one of those clear plastic cd pockets so when ever I need it I just pull them out, trace onto cardstock or pattern paper, cut and voila...pretty leaves! I'm pretty sure most of you could draw your own leaves but for the few who can't I've got a template for ya! :)

I traced the leaves onto pattern paper, cut them out and distressed them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye (one of my favourites for distressing!)...I scored down the center and gently folded... (I used one of my small crochet hooks to score the leaves). For the sentiment on the tag I used our Blessings Sentiments stamp set and I stamped the polkadots from our Doodle Flowers stamp set onto the kraft paper bag.

Jane's Doodles Croatian Sentiments stamp kit

card + DIY paper feathers + winners

Hello! I'm back...hopefully I'll be back to blogging now....I haven't been in the mood much lately....a friend was over last night and needed a wedding card....I was so not in the mood to make one but I'm glad I forced myself because it jump started my crafty mojo! I spotted this on Pinterest and decided to make a card with feathers. Pop on over here and check out the tutorial and download the feather template.

For this card I didn't do any stamping except for the sentiment which is from my Croatian Sentiments stamp set (which will be available at NB Hobby and Art in Zagreb soon). I printed out the feather templates and cut and traced on cardstock and pattern paper....

I just wanted to say thank you to all who have sent cards to John...you're amazing! A RAK from a stranger is powerful and I know John will be touched and comforted. I haven't felt like doing much...slowly I'm getting back to my schedule.

heavy heart and a favour

My heart is heavy...my mom called me today with the tragic news that her husband's son passed away yesterday...he was only 29. I will miss Daniel...because I live here we didn't spend a lot of time together but the times I did visit Canada we hung out...I remember everytime I would swear or something he would say 'you're on the air'..and I was like 'what??!'...apparently I was on God's radio station!! LOL He was a good kid and I say kid because that's how I left him...the last time I was there was 13 years ago...he was finishing high school...I feel horrible and helpless...I can't comfort John and my mom...hug them... cook for them...run errands, make phone calls....but I did get an idea....and I need your help! I think it would be amazing if you made sympathy cards for John....simple...like 'thinking of you'....I will also give away 3 Jane's Doodles stamp sets of your choice to one winner so if you are interested please email me janebeljo@yahoo.ca and I will give you the address and you will be entered in the giveaway (which I think all of you would do even without a prize...but it's a thank you from me for your time and effort)....they live in Canada.
