coupon code SMILE

Hello!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! :)
The days are longer and the sun is peeking out behind the clouds....spring is right around the corner which is something to SMILE about!! So why not a coupon code for $5 off your total purchase!! Just type in SMILE.

So here's my card for day 4 for the 5 days of artistic challenge.

I used my Little Miss Mia and Boris the Bunny stamp sets....oh and the 'smile' sentiment is from my Smile stamp set.

I used my Graph'it markers to colour and to create my background I just did a simple wash of watercolours...so easy! :)

Pop on over to the JD blog and check out Miriam's card!

friday favourites

Hello!

Hope all is well! Did you have a lovely Christmas? I can't believe it's over. I was NOT ready for Christmas this year....I literally did my shopping the day before. I was overwhelmed with so many dead lines that I didn't get a chance to get all excited for Christmas....AND Mia and Jakov have ear infections but Jakov also has a fever so there! I'm going to get ready for xmas in JULY!! I'm not joking! Start making my cards, gift shopping, crafts...

Anyhow...on to my Friday favourites!!
It's all abour GREY people! I love to wear grey, black, white/cream....my mom always tries to get me to wear colour poor lady! lol! I just feel my best in these neautral shades...here and there I'll buy something with colour.

I got a gift card from my husband and kids and I bought a grey thin knit sweater and grey (darker shade than the sweater) pants which inspired my Friday favourites! :)

I LOVE this shade and will be buying it! :) It's Essie's Miss Fancy Pants...if not for the colour you've got to buy it for the name! ;)

LOVE this space! LOVE the wood and neautral colours and I love when a space isn't cluttered with things.

One of the latest trends in the paper crafting, card making world is using sequins....could easily become a hoarding problem! They are perfect to add to you cards, especially when making a shaker card!

Cozy and grey!

I have not worn a watch since Marko's!!! 12 years! This one is just gorgeous..simple, grey with rose gold! So pretty! :)

Have a great day!

faux shaker card

Hello!
Hope all is well!

Fever has found it's newest victim in my home...Marko (my oldest) now is sick...I'm just exhausted!

Anyways I wanted to share this gift tag I created...my intention was to make a shaker tag but I didn't like how the foam adhesive was showing so I decided to make a faux shaker tag! :)

I basically did everything I would making a shaker card/tag only I didn't add the foam so the sequins can't really move...it does just a bit! :)

I used my Warm Wishes and Mr. and Mrs. Claus stamp sets and coloured with my Graph'it markers.

Have a great day!

warm wishes + stretch your stamps

Hello!

Hope all is well!

I'm going to show how I stretched my stamps with a little masking. I used the bunny and chick from my Spring stamp set to create a Christmas card by adding the snowman's hat (from my Warm Wishes) stamp set and drawing a hat on the chick.

For the chick I took some washi tape (post-it's are great for this too...I usually use post-it but ran out of them) and cover the top of the chick's head where I want to draw the hat. Draw the hat with a pencil first than trace over it with a marker and erase the pencil.

Ink up the stamp, remove the washi tape and stamp.

I did the same with the rabbit.

I too the snowman stamp from my Warm Wishes stamp set and masked off everything but the hat, after I inked the hat and took off the washi tape I rubbed off the ink where I wanted the ears to be with a baby wipe.

Don't worry if it doesn't look perfect...once you colour it those little mistakes won't show. Also you can fix any lines (if they didn't stamp clear) with a marker (I use Sakura Pigma Micron) and use a white gel pen to erase any tiny mistakes.

Again, same thing with the ears....

I embossed polka dots on the vellum to create the snow...I adhered the sides of the vellum at the back so the glue doesn't show through at the front.

I coloured my images with Graph'it markers and as you can see any tiny imperfections are gone once coloured in.

Have a great day!

you are AWESOME!

Hello!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

It's my turn on the blog today and I'm sharing a card I made to thank Caroline (the skin care guru)...I asked if I could quote her for mButterflies stamp set.

I used up some of my pretty scraps of pattern paper to create the frame and banners.

I stamped the butterfly onto the cardstock and then again a second time onto another scrap piece of white cardstock, coloured it in with my Graph'it markers, cut it out and added a nice layer of glitter. This is quick and easy because there's no need to spend any time blending and colouring since I knew I wanted to cover the butterfly with glitter.

I'm loving sequins especially white sequins!!!

Hope you have a great day!
