spring cleaning

What have I done! LOL!!!

I am drowning in clothes but I am making progress! I just pray no one comes over in the next few days because there are clothes EVERY WHERE!!!
So I probably will not be posting much this week but I will share photo of the end result of my 'closet spring cleaning'.

I also wanted to share this. Have any of you watched or heard of The True Cost? I literally cried when I watched the trailer. I showed my two oldest and had a serious talk about it. Mia had tears in her eyes which makes me feel good because it bothered her and it should. We should be ashamed of ourselves and like the person said we can do so much better! Please click on the link and take a look.

spring cleaning

Hello!

Spring cleaning has been on my brain lately. Last night when I was at the post office shipping off orders I saw this book (Croatian version below).

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing

I remember hearing about this book and thinking I've got to get it. I will just don't know if I should get it in Croatian (to practice my Croatian) or to get it in English which I would enjoy much more. :)

Since I started Jane's Doodle my spring cleaning pretty much didn't work out as I planned and I realize that I was very unrealistic with the actual time I had and the tasks and I gave myself.

Check out this video. I don't know about you but it got me excited! :)

I'm starting my spring cleaning tomorrow and I'm tackling the closets. I will give myself more time this year and I'll share my progress here on the blog.

For inspiration and ideas pinterest is the place to go.

You've got free printable Spring Cleaning challenges and check lists.

I LOVE baskets and storage containers for organizing. It looks nice and it's always easier and faster to clean up when everything has a 'home'.

I plan on buying some storage bins/baskets the next time I go to Ikea.

These air tight vacuum bags are always handy.

I've got my huge garbage bags ready so I can sort the clothes out (either give my kids clothes that are too small to friends and family, to my church or recycle).

I'll be starting on this closet in our hallway. I'm sorry for the bad photo but we're having yucky weather (rain, wind, grey and dark outstide).

I'm excited to get started! :)

work space

Hello!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I spent most of the weekend cleaning up the basement (which is apart of our home but you have to go out of the house to go to the basement...make sense??)...I have such a difficult time balancing stay at home mom and work at home mom schedules. My kids are not in school all day like from 9am to 3pm. One week it's mornings (Mia - 7:50am to 11:23am and Marko - 7:50am to 12:15pm) and the other week it's afternoons (Mia - 2:00pm to 5:35pm and Marko 2:00 to 6:25)...did I mention the tons of homework...schools here in Croatia are reall
demanding and difficult....it's ridiculous... and then throw in dance, taekwondo and Jakov's preschool...I feel like a taxi driver...I'll leave my house up to 7 times a day depending on the day and their activities...and I do it alone....no help (my husband works all the time)...so I struggle but one thing I think will help me is my workspace in the basement...away from the 'home' and kids...yeah they still come down a thousand times and there's a million interruptions but at least I'm not working at the kitchen table...I can leave the mess downstairs! :)

I plan to take more pictures of the basement...it's no where near done but it's come a long way!! I wish I had taken a before photo!! maybe I can dig one up somewhere..maybe my husband took some!

Pop by the JD blog and check out Natasha's cute Halloween card! Have a great day! xo

random goodness

Hello!

Hope all is well.....I'm super excited because the sun finally is out!! Our weather lately sucked...cool and rainy...where's summer???!

Anyways...I spotted this diy on Pinterest and loved the idea....I had bought this little corkboard for my office down in the basement perfect for this project....for those who know me you know I HATE measuring....I eyeball everything....so I took some masking tape and just eyeballed it...

I did two coats of paint (although I think when I do my corkboard in my pantry I'm only going to do one coat...it's a bit more sheer but I think I like that better...)

Here's a peek....I'm going to paint the frame a Tiffany blue-ish colour and will post pictures once it's done and hanging on the wall...but I have to say I love the way it turned out...I was a little worried because I didn't do any measuring....

I'm loving Make Up Factory's Summer Flowers nail polish collection....this brand works great on my nails (way better than Essie...I don't know what it is about Essie nail polishes but they chip the same day I painted my nails!!)....I bought Marigold and Mint Leaf...by far the best mint colour I have ever tried.

Looks more yellow in the photo (more orange-y in real life)...love it...perfect pop of colour for summer! :)

Finally finished the pantry!!!! Now to clean the rest of the house (which I have neglected!!)...

Have a great weekend!

pantry

Happy first of June! :)

I have been wanting to organize my pantry for the longest time so when my husband came home with paint I was so excited!!!!

Two days later and the excitement is gone!! LOL It's never ending!!!! I just want to give up!! While I'm cleaning and scrubbing I'm thinking of how I will organize it....where should I put what....what goes together...cans, pasta, cereal....

My husband and I jumped over to Bauhaus to grab a light for the pantry...nothing special....I wanted to check out their storage 'stuff'....didn't buy any baskets or containers just yet...I want to put all the stuff back in and see what storage containers I need (the size etc) but I did buy these goodies!! Elho spray bottle and watering can....there where some other Elho goodies that caught my eye. A Curver multi-pack (set of three containers) which I will be putting to use in my pantry.

I think I'm going to need another two days to finish this!!

Have a great weekend!
