Nin

Hello!

Sharing some more picture of Nin (all taken by my sister in law). Nin is in my heart.

Holy Cross Church

My cousin's restaurant which is literally right opposite (just a few steps) the Holy Cross Church.

The church I was married in (my mom baptised and had her first communion).

happy birthday + 25% off all clear stamps

Hello!

It's Marko's birthday! This sweet boy is 14! What?????

To celebrate with my crafty customers I'm having a 25% off all clear stamp sets sale!

Today he (along with all grade 8 students in his school) had a physical check up and I'm so grateful for his health and growing like a weed!

I did a post about mud...curious just click here. In this photo Marko's 'tattooed' himself in mud with our family surnames (Stipić, Mažar, Pavlović and Beljo on the front). :)

the queen's beach - nin

Hello!

I want to share some photos (most of them taken by my sister in law) of one of Croatia's famous and beautiful beach. It's a favourite of ours especially the kids....and you'll see why.

This is one of my favourite churches in Nin -  the Church of St. Nicholas (12th century) which is located in the field of Prahulje. Seven Kings were crowned in Nin, and every crowned ruler rode on horseback to the Chruch of Saint Nicholas.

And according to legend King Tomislav's wife fell in love with the beach below and so the beach was named The Queen's Beach (Kraljičina plaža). When ever the royal pair came to Nin they would go to this beach.

The reason my kids, nieces and nephews love this beach is not because of the amazing history but the MUD! Yes.....mud! But not just your regular mud but medicinal mud which has been used to treat various ailments such as rheumatic diseases, spinal deformities, muscular and the skeletal system problems, female infertility and various skin diseases for decades.

Tell me they don't look happy as pigs in mud! :)

So if you ever go to the Queen's beach make sure to roll around in the mud!

Zeljovići

Our last stop during our summer holiday was Zeljovići to spend some time with my husband's family visiting from Canada.

Zeljovići is a beautiful town with stone houses from (around) the 16th century (I'll have to double check).

You don't want to be busting out your heels on these paths! ;)

Little 'wild' kitty. :)

So grateful for another awesome summer holiday with family!

Nin

I've already posted lots about Nin. I LOVE it there. My mom is from Nin, I got married there. Our favourite thing to do is to go there in the evening for a walk and a snack.

We noticed a new candy store and as sweet as it was I do not recommend you shop there. It is OVER PRICED!!! All the candy costs the same and they charge by weight. The kids had fun picking their candy but never again! LOL!

I love to go into the little souvenir shops and I found this hand cream by a Croatian brand called Sapunoteka. I bought some for my sister in laws. I hope to pop into their store in Zagreb soon and grab some goodies for myself.

Vrsi - Mulo

Hello!

I'm sharing more photos of our summer vacation.
After Pag we went to my aunts house and we LOVE it there! Her house is the third house up from the beach....so close that my kids when they didn't want to be on the beach anymore could walk back to the house on their own.

Her house is in Vrsi Mulo (which is not even a 10 minute drive to Nin and about a 20 minute drive to Zadar).

Our view from the balcony. :)

There are a lot of gorgeous beaches in the area but we didn't feel like driving much and went to the beach down the road.

One night there was AMAZING fireworks off the water! I did share it on my instagram.

My aunt also has a huge fig tree.....people...I cannot tell you how yummy they are!

Every time we leave I cry. I just love it there, we love my aunt and we feel so at home there.
