Crochet

 Hello!
Hope all is well!

I pretty much start and end my day with a little crocheting. I'll be the only one awake on the couch...peace and quiet and crocheting for about half an hour...depends but it's something that I want to keep up all year long....I never crochet in the spring or summer.

I wanted to share some crochet project updates like the scarf I'm working on using the bean stitch...it's coming along...I want to make it pretty long.

I also found another crochet snowflake pattern on pinterest and I really love this one. I tried it out using yarn but it looks so much better when using crochet thread and starched. I think I have some crochet thread in the basement....I'm going to make another one and then starch it (which makes it stiff and hold it's shape)...perhaps make a snowflake garland. :) With this pattern I think you need to starch it because it won't hold shape.

scarf or cowl

Hi!

Hope all is well! :)

I could seriously crochet the day away. Did I ever mention who taught me the basics?
I believe when I was 10 years old my grandma (my dad's mom) came to Canada from Croatia to visit for Christmas. I was home from school for the holidays and was very shy to speak Croatian (didn't know much) to my grandma so we found common ground to bond and that was crochet. My grandma never went to school....that's how it was back in the day, people were poor and sent the boys to school......so she didn't know how to read or write but she was brilliant and creative. She designed her own intricate designs to crochet.

At 10 years old I didn't know what a gift she had given me teaching me crochet because at my darkest moments in life (like loosing my dad and this grandma...they died within 24 hours) it gave me comfort. Thank you baka! :)

My scarf is coming along....I hope to do another crochet giveaway soon. I did one last year.

Do you prefer to wear scarves of cowls? I think I prefer a scarf because you have more options on how to style it.
Anyway..enjoyour weekend and make sure to join me on Monday for a special blog hop and giveaway! :)

Crochet Bean Stitch + winner

Hello!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!
I have a couple of crochet projects on my brain and I started a scarf last night and decided to try out the bean stitch. I noticed at home though that the wool I bought (which is super soft) is felting wool and now I'm not sure if I could use this wool to make my scarf...does it make a difference? Anyone know?

Check out this video to learn it yourself.

And now to announce the winner of my Efco stamp sets....
