cookie

Hello!
I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day!!  I ate way too much chocolate...pretty sure I'm not the only one! :)

I asked my kids what baked goodies they wanted me to bake for Valentine's and they said my chocolate cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies. You can find my chocolate cupcake recipe here. I don't know whether I shared my chocolate chip cookie recipe here on the blog so here it is. If you like a nice chewy, cake like cookie than this is the recipe for you! :)

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup butter (room temperature)
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs

2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C (375 degrees F)
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in vanilla and eggs one at a time. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips (I add a tad more than 2 cups...we like chocolate!) Drop by the tablespoon...or as I do it, roll into balls and place onto ungreased  cookie sheet.
3. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden. (mine bake for exactly 8 minutes).

My husband loves chocolate chip cookies. I've tried all different recipes for them. Yours is a little different and I'll give them a try. Thanks.
