Merry Christmas

Hi!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas with family and friends! We did!! And.....no one was sick this time!!

I wanted to share the results of my hard work to raise money for Dora's family.....my husband took a picture of this poster made sharing the results of the fund raiser.

2,300.00kn was raised........770kn of this sum came from my cards!!!!!!!! That's around $150 and keep in mind that I sold my tags for $2 and cards for $3!!!

Lots of toys and clothes, etc. were also collected! This was the best Christmas gift I could have given myself!! I feel GOOD!

I also enjoyed seeing photos of other bloggers homes all in Christmas mode!! Here are a few details of our home...

Anyways I'll be back in January........ catching up with 'things' and enjoying visiting with family and friends.  Also just a reminder that I'm having a challenge (check the top side bar).

Once again....I'm late for the Cards blog challenge!! lol

The challenge was to use felt in your project....so I cut out my poinsettias using Spellbinders Shapeabilities (Nested Poinsettias) using some felt scraps left over from last Christmas. This tag is for Marko's teacher.

And I'd thought I'd share this cute card that Deirdre made using my digi monster....and she turned him into a totally cool punk rock dude!! This card is also one of the Caardvarks winning picks for their digital challenge...check it out here.

snowflake tag

Tomorrow I will find out exactly how much money I raised for Dora's family. One thing I realized is how much fun it is to make tags!!! I just LOVE it! I use up all my scraps of paper that are just too yummy to throw away!! I'm loving these wooden clothes pins that I bought (just plain wooden clothes pins that I prettied up.)....I want to put them on everything!!

I made this tag for the Embellish Magazine colour challenge with snowflakes! I had the perfect yellow snowflake from Cosmo Cricket (I won a bunch of Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly pretties at Moxie Fab World). I used my snowflake punch on pale blue cardstock and covered it with glitter. I'm loving glitter....I totally understand my daughter's addiction!!

materials - stamps (PTI, sentiment stamps ?), Cosmo Cricket pp and snowflake chipboard, brown chalk ink, clothes pin, cardstock, rhinestones, PTI pp.

birthday giveaway

I am soooo TIRED people!!! Today is the last day for my card and tag sale (for Dora's family)...this is the last batch I sent to the daycare/preschool........I'll find out on Monday how much money was raised...I lost track of what and how many I made!!! Everything's a blur! LOL I still feel a little sick but it was all worth it. By the way...thanks for all the feel better wishes!

cards for Dora update

I'm happy to say that all the cards are selling.....faster than I can make them!! These are a few I was working on this morning! Unfortunately I'm a little sick....low fever....other than that I'm fine but the fever is slowing me down......... I feel sooooo tired! Last Christmas I had the worst case of strep throat.......

I've been using a lot of my digi stuff...........I used a few of my digi images (like the reindeer up above) that I coloured in photoshop and then just printed them out (added some stickles, glitter...and it's good to go!). It saves you a lot of time when you need to make a lot of cards and have little time to do it.

Here's my card for Card Patterns Sketch 44 Challenge. The very talented and thoughtful Nina sent me some stamped images (Gina K Designs). I coloured the bird and branches with Copics and used my glitter gel pen and stickles to add a little shine.

I don't think I'll have much time to do any other challenges this month for several reasons but there's ONE very important reason. My daughter's best friend Dora (from daycare/preschool) and her father were killed in a car accident this past summer. Dora's mother is left with 4 children.....they were all in very bad shape and still have a very long road ahead of them to heal.

Anyways, my daughter's group at daycare/preschool is having a fund raiser for Dora's family to help them out (this is the second time). I was thinking of what else I can do....and I thought why not sell my Christmas cards and tags at the daycare/preschool and donate all the money to Dora's family....anyways..the principal loved the idea and the photo underneath is of the poster announcing the fund raiser and my cards being sold from Dec. 14 to Dec. 18. So lets hope they will sell!! I've got lots of work to do!!!

Quick post....I made this card for Lucy's Challenge. Perfect timing....my neighbour just had a baby girl!!

Today is a grey, gloomy rainy day and no matter where I took my pictures I couldn't get a nice, clear shot!

This is a trick I learned from Lucy...I stamped the owl stamp on the back of the pattern paper and then cut it out. I inked the eyes and beak only and stamped on the owl.

It's release day at Squigglefly and I have two new images to show to you all. 'Mia & Bosko' and 'Rustic Snowman'. Most of you have already seen my Rustic Snowman.....I used him for Caardvarks Color It Challenge. I didn't win but my card was mentioned (along with a few other cards)...you can check that out here.

Like I mentioned already....Mia and Bosko are based on my daughter Mia (who is a Princess who LOVES cats, hearts, pink...). We have to cats but I borrowed the name Bosko from our friends cat who is an orange cat. My daughter loves this card!! It's ALL her! Every time I do a card with my Mia in mind I always end up with this colour scheme....and those are the colours in her bedroom! lol  I'm so happy with this image that I'm feeling inspired to add my other sons too!

I also made this card for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge.

Mia & Bosko

Happy Friday!

TGIF!! I thought I'd give you a few sneak peeks at one of my new digi images that will be released tomorrow at Squigglefly...........it's called 'Mia & Bosko' (Bosko pronounced Boshko).....this image is inspired by my daughter Mia who LOVES cats (and the colour pink, hearts....you know..all the stuff Princesses love!). She LOVES it and when I showed it to her she aske.........is that me mama? We have two cats that don't have names!!lol so I borrowed Bosko from our friends cat who's name is....Bosko!

spray paint

The other day I was reading Becky's blog (I follow her blog and just LOVE her fresh, creative ideas and products) and was happy to see that I'm not the only person obssessed with spray painting!!! And I started spray painting out of necessity and not curiousity........I just couldn't find what I was looking for so I usually altered things. I love spray painting because it cheap and it could totally change the object your spray painting and bring a splash of colour (or not).

These 3 frames I bought years ago and they where all brown.........I LOVE brown but I have a bit too much brown so I spray painted them green (love green too) and I used an old rag to rub some of the paint off in order to see a bit of the original brown.

This frame was a very light pine that I spray painted white..............but I think I need a little colour...I'm thinking a yummy shade of pink!! Mia would love that!

I also spray painted this basket yellow (it was a light pine colour).

I have such a hard time finding lighting I like here in Zagreb!!! So I ended up spray painting these lights...both of them were this gold-bronze-ish colour.

I was excited when I saw chrome spray paint at the hardware store.....now this light matches all the other chrome fixtures in our bathroom.

Well, I'm busy working on my digi releases for the 5th of this month so hope you pop by and see what I have come up with and what my design team has come up with........also there will be a challenge annoucement!!
