HA Big Owl in digi form!

Hi!!

This Hero Arts Big Owl stamp has been on my wish list forever!!! So how happy was I when I saw that it is now available in digi form!!! So here's my card for Lucy's Glitter Challenge.

I used my copics to colour the owl and distressed him a bit....don't know why I think he's a boy....and better yet..why did I use pink??? ;) I added lots of glitter took Lucy's tip about using glossy accents and it really does lock in the glitter!! I also used one of my favourite Hero Arts stamps...the clouds stamp. The sentiment is also Hero Arts. Some sewing action would be awesome on this card and my mother in law gave me her sewing machine.......I don't even know where to begin.........how do you even get the string in there??? ;)

I also wanted to share this card that the talented Mariana created using my digi stamp Spike...........how CUTE and COLOURFUL is this!!! just LOVE it!

I kept these stamps simple so you have the option of colouring or paper piecing like I did....I used yummy Basic Grey paper for the body.

My father bought me stacking Babushka's when I was little and I just LOVED them...hmmm what happened to them?? Anyways, my talented DT once again did their magic with my simple doodles so please go and check them out!! (once again please remember the time difference).

It's release day tomorrow at Squigglefly and I have another set ready!! (hopefully I handed in my digi stamps on time...I couldn't get online for a while).

I haven't been around blog land lately and it's because I've been busy....mostly with my drawing....I have soooo many ideas!!! I'm working on a card for Lucy's challenge (I hope I'm not late!) and I'm using Hero Arts big owl that now comes in digi form!!! Of coarse I bought it right away!!! YAY!

There's also Virginia's challenge.....too many projects not enough time!!!!

I also opened up my Etsy store....it's pretty much empty but I'm working on changing that....here's a batch I made yesterday that need some sanding and varnish.

Congrats ladies and thank you to all who played along! Have a great weekend....by the way my oldest is sick as a dog...he got antibiotics and hopefully will be feeling better soon....my youngest has got cold...hope it doesn't turn into a throat infection...thank you for the get better wishes!

Friendship

Hi!

It's all about Valentine's and friendships at Hero Arts and here's a friendship card I made with this GORGEOUS Hero Arts cling (CG107)......I didn't know what to do with it for the longest time because you just don't want to do anything to it...it's so pretty!!! (sorry about the photo...don't know what wrong with me...can't get a clear shot!!)

The friendship sentiment is Hero Arts (CL342) and it actually reads 'thank you for your friendship' but I only inked 'friendship'.

I made friends with some AWESOME ladies that love Hero Arts too.....too many to mention but I'm sure they know who they are...

Moxie Fab World is also having a challenge...bringing the outside in....or is it the inside out! ;) So I stamped that gorgeous Hero Arts Cling stamp using versamark ink...cut it out and put it on the inside along with the same senitment (that's on the outside).

Did I ever have a hard time taking a picture of this card....I couldn't get rid of that glare...took pictures inside and outside.....

I LOVE colour challenges and Moxie Fab World is having one!!..... but I did make a mental note....MUST buy more cardstock and INK, INK and MORE INK!!

I used my handy dandy owl template that I drew and traced on thick cardstock and cut out. It's a great way to use up your scraps but you can also print the template right onto cardstock or pp.

I used some embossing powder....can you tell I LOVE polka dots!!! The belly is a scrap left over from another project (I made my own pp using one of PTI's background stamps). I added some glossy accents on the beak.

If anyone is interested in my owl template let me know and I'll email it to you although I'm sure you can whip up your own owl template in minutes!

colour challenge, winners........

Hi!!

I wanted to make another card for Dawn's color challenge and this card is 100% inspired by Dawn! I LOVE LOVE her layered butterflies....sooooo PRETTY!! And I watched her 'How to tie a bow' tutorial and ta da!!!!!!! I made a perfectly pretty bow!!!! I have to buy some ribbon now!!!

I hand cut the butterflies (I ordered some butterfly dies...yay...they are on their way!!). I stamped the blue with Polka Dot Basics and embossed the brown. The yellow rose is my handmade fimo rose.

I thought I'd share a little........this is a picture (not out of my head...it's from one of my art encyclopedias) I started drawing when I found out my father had cancer. I often love to look at my art books for inspiration and when I came across this drawing I connected with it! It was a very lonely, sad and stressful time in my life......it took me a long time to finish because at one point (when my father was at his worst...before he died) I couldn't work on it..........a few months after he died I started to work on it again...it was my therapy..........my mother in law framed it for me and it hangs in my living room....and it's comforts me. I coloured it with very cheap pencil crayons I bought at the corner store!! ;)

sorry about the reflection...you could see my living room ;)!

This is another I drew (not from my head)...it's by one of the artists from The Group of Seven...can't remember his name....I just really really liked the colours and mood of this painting.....I used oil pastels.

Sherman and another giveaway!

When I saw Dawn's color challenge 

                            

   

.....I knew exactly what I was going to do.....I used my newest digi stamp....introducing Sherman who is a very modest and loyal companion!!

I stamped tiny soft yellow hearts (can't see it too good..........it's a very rainy and gloomy day today) on Sherman's body using PTI's Heart Prints. I distressed everything using PTI inks. The sentiment is also mine...it's my actual hand wrtiting which I don't like but there you have it! I'd like to thank Clare for she gave me this idea and as a thank you to her I'll be sending her this image for free!! Thanks Clare!

Tomorrow is release day at Squigglefly and you'll be able to find Sherman and Gus....the seagull whom you've all already met (sitting on Noah's Ark)! Stop by and see what Alice, Jane have done. The other design team members will be sharing their cards soon!

Finally I made a card!!! It's sooo hard getting started after a little break. There are several challenges going on......Embellish Magazine's challenge is all about hearts and a colour scheme (pink, red and black to be exact)....I'm new to this site and I'm loving all the inspiration and talent shown here....it's like the InStyle of cards and stamping!

Nichole is having a little 'use your scraps' challenge....lots of cool tips and major inspiration there! So I used some of my scraps to make my tag.......I love making tags...this is new to me!! lol

Hero Arts is also having a Friends And Valentine's theme this month....they made some great changes that you can read about here. I used a Hero Arts heart stamp to make my own pp....I stamped it a bunch of times in rows and coloured it in with a red Copic marker.

I made another rose last night and I managed to make this one flatter (as flat as I can without smooshing...that is a word lol........it!). Not bad.....I'm pretty sure after a few I'll get the hang of it.

I'm working on two images that could be used for Valentine's Day so hopefully by Squigglefly's next release date (which is next Saturday) they will be ready!
