the queen's beach - nin

Hello!

I want to share some photos (most of them taken by my sister in law) of one of Croatia's famous and beautiful beach. It's a favourite of ours especially the kids....and you'll see why.

This is one of my favourite churches in Nin -  the Church of St. Nicholas (12th century) which is located in the field of Prahulje. Seven Kings were crowned in Nin, and every crowned ruler rode on horseback to the Chruch of Saint Nicholas.

And according to legend King Tomislav's wife fell in love with the beach below and so the beach was named The Queen's Beach (Kraljičina plaža). When ever the royal pair came to Nin they would go to this beach.

The reason my kids, nieces and nephews love this beach is not because of the amazing history but the MUD! Yes.....mud! But not just your regular mud but medicinal mud which has been used to treat various ailments such as rheumatic diseases, spinal deformities, muscular and the skeletal system problems, female infertility and various skin diseases for decades.

Tell me they don't look happy as pigs in mud! :)

So if you ever go to the Queen's beach make sure to roll around in the mud!
