pencil and paper

Hi!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Today I thought I share some sneak peeks of new Jane's Doodles stamps and how my stamps come to be! :)

It all starts with a pencil and paper. I'm so excited for this owl and can't wait until it's a stamp!

When I'm happy with my drawing I will go over it with a black marker (I use Sakura) and erase the pencil and then scan it. I don't like to touch up my drawings because they stop looking like my hand drawing if you know what I mean. I don't draw perfectly straight lines or circles etc. so I stopped stressing myself out about that.

Here's another peek of a new stamp set in pencil form...you'll have to wait to see the rest though! :)

And a little crocheted rug update for my laundry room...I'm half way done! :)

Have a great day!

crochet with hemp

Hello!
Hope all is well! :)

The other day I was at the grocery store and saw this big ball of hemp....I bought it to see how it would be to crochet with it. This particular one is very thick but I totally love the outcome.
I'm planning my spring cleaning and one of the rooms I really want to organize is my laundry room....it's small and it needs a little face lift! I was thinking of crocheting some baskets out of hemp...and even a rug!!

I think I'm going to make square or rectangular baskets....found some inspiration on Pinterest of coarse! :)

BUT...I will not start this project until I finish the pillow case I'm crocheting for my bed!! I tend to work on a million things at once...so non productive!!

Have a great day!

cookie

Hello!
I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day!!  I ate way too much chocolate...pretty sure I'm not the only one! :)

I asked my kids what baked goodies they wanted me to bake for Valentine's and they said my chocolate cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies. You can find my chocolate cupcake recipe here. I don't know whether I shared my chocolate chip cookie recipe here on the blog so here it is. If you like a nice chewy, cake like cookie than this is the recipe for you! :)

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup butter (room temperature)
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs

2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C (375 degrees F)
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in vanilla and eggs one at a time. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips (I add a tad more than 2 cups...we like chocolate!) Drop by the tablespoon...or as I do it, roll into balls and place onto ungreased  cookie sheet.
3. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden. (mine bake for exactly 8 minutes).

Valentine's Day card and Do!ts

Hello on this gloomy rainy day (at least in Zagreb)!!

Shower someone with LOVE by making this card! :) The tutorial is up at Do!ts so pop on over THERE and check it out. It's in Croatian but the pictures are pretty self explanatory. :) The sentiment is from my Croatian Sentiments stamp set available here.

you are AWESOME!

Hello!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

It's my turn on the blog today and I'm sharing a card I made to thank Caroline (the skin care guru)...I asked if I could quote her for mButterflies stamp set.

I used up some of my pretty scraps of pattern paper to create the frame and banners.

I stamped the butterfly onto the cardstock and then again a second time onto another scrap piece of white cardstock, coloured it in with my Graph'it markers, cut it out and added a nice layer of glitter. This is quick and easy because there's no need to spend any time blending and colouring since I knew I wanted to cover the butterfly with glitter.

I'm loving sequins especially white sequins!!!

Hope you have a great day!

The other day I was in my kitchen cleaning up and looking out the window around 5 pm I realized it wasn't totally dark outside!!! Spring is around the corner and it's about this time of year I start thinking about my spring cleaning!! For inspiration I like to pop on over to Pinterest....lots of good ideas for cleaning and organizing....I also saw some awesome pins of chalkboard painted walls!! I really really really think I need to paint one of my walls in chalkboard paint...and I know which one!! Now all I need to do is convince my husband that we MUST have a chalkboard wall!! :)

Check out these gorgeous pins!!!!!!

JD and Do!ts

Hello!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!! :)
I had a fabulous workshop on Saturday! It was held at Do!ts and I thank Ivona and Marina for allowing me to share my love for paper crafting and my stamps of coarse!

I wanted to do an intro to stamping using my Jungle Baby (Croatian version). The two techniques we did were paper piecing and using water colours to colour the stamped images.

But first...just check out the wonderful space we worked in....so bright, fun and such a creative atmosphere!!

Or tea! ;)
I baked banana bread and brought it to the workshop. :) That's how I roll! :)

I wanted to share techniques that weren't difficult (because I assumed that the ladies coming to the workshop didn't have much or any experience using stamps) and also techniques that were affordable for beginners. I remember when I got started I was overwhelmed with everything that I needed....paper piecing is an easy and won't put a strain on your wallet. I personally love to colour in my stamped images with my Graph'it markers but markers are an investment so I thought water colours would be a great alternative.

I also encouraged the lovely ladies who came to my workshop to doodle!! :) Draw a border, clouds, grass, faux stitching, etc.....and they did....and they did it awesomely!!! :)

Don't even ask about the hair....don't! :)  (I am looooong over due a hair cut and my bangs????!!)

Water colours

Paper piecing.

I did bring some of my Graph'it markers and let the ladies have a try at using them...

It was a rainy day but it was bright and beautiful inside Do!ts! I thank all the ladies from the bottom of my heart...for coming and allowing me to share my passion. They did a fabulous job!! And I hope they'll join me again in the future! :)
