pocket photo card

Hi!

Here's my card for the Hero Arts Challenge this week which is PHOTO CARDS. I love making photo cards, they are so fun and personal! I usually make them for my kids (for their birthday as thank you cards). This card is so Mia! Pink and hearts!! This card reminds me of her bedroom.........the walls are pale blue, her quilt has flowers on it, I painted her dresser yellow and of coarse there's lots of pink!

I used my Making Memories Tag maker to make the heart and since I have two Hero Arts catalogs I cut out the front page and used that print for my heart! My Hero Arts wish list is way long!!!!

Anyways, I'll add the materials I used on this photo card later on......my youngest wants to go outside.........right NOW!;)
Have a great day!!

they drive me bananas..

but they are mine and I LOVE THEM TO BITS!!!!!! It's funny how they are so alike and at the same time so different.
Here's Marko who is showing off his gap!! He woke up extra early to see if the tooth fairy paid a visit... which she did. He treated his sister and brother to a little something with his tooth money.

And then there's Mia!! Miss I'm a princess and I love pink, hearts and cats!!! What a face!!

Mia is very motherly towards Jakov......if he cries she runs to him and hugs him. She's going to make a good mama one day!!
And Jakov is my 'mali zec' which means little rabbit in Croatian......why??? he used to kick his legs in and out really fast when I would hold him up in the air.......it was so funny and cute!
Have a great day!!

Hi!

This is my card for the Hero Arts challenge this week which is all about complimentary colours! It's a simple card.......I wasn't planning on making a card because most of my supplies are in boxes....... I will be moving them to our basement where I'll have my own desk and space for all my crafty things! YIPPIE!! No more kitchen table and kitchen counter!! We just need to buy some shelves for storage and we're in business!

Anyways, I used Hero Arts Scallop Border stamp set to make the frame for the flower.... I cut it out (I wanted to heat emboss it but my heat gun is tucked some where inside one of the boxes). Also used Hero Arts Raindrop Background stamp on the purple flower.........I have no idea how and why it stamped that way but I like it! I used ColorBox Chalk inks. The yellow flower button is my handmade fimo button.............I bought some lovely purple fimo today! Speaking of fimo.....I have to say I'm not to happy with the gloss varnish I have been using........even after drying I find it to be sticky........could be that I'm not doing it properly (putting on too much or too little) but I think I'm going to check for some different varnish.

Well, I don't know about the rest of the world but we're having some major thunderstorms.......lots of rain..........good for my garden!;)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Bye!

Window Card Challenge

Hi!

My daughter's godmother (who is my husband's cousin) will be coming over for a visit tomorrow and her birthday is coming up so I decided to make a window card for her and for the Caardvarks challenge. I chose to stamp 'Beautiful' because she is BEAUTIUFL in every way! We first met when I was dating my husband and I knew then that we would be the best of friends. I decided even before I had any kids that if I ever had a girl she would be her godmother because I wanted someone who would be a good role model for my daughter. Long story short.....God blessed me with my daughter Mia and Ivana accepted the role of godmother.

The rose I made myself with fimo and I used My Cute Stamps Spunky Nature's leaf stamp for the leaves that I heat embossed using American Craft's clear embossing powder. The strip of cardstock looks pink but it's more of a peachy colour. The mini brads are from Basic Grey. ColorBox Chalk Ink in dark brown.

Happy Birthday Ivana! I so admire your beauty and strength and it's a blessing to have you in our lives! We love ya!

Have a great day!

Scribble This! Challenge

I'm so sorry for the mistakes I made trying to link this post to Lisa's challenge........I told you that I don't get along with computers!! ;)

Hi! I figured I enter this card in Lisa's Scribble This! Challenge too. It's cold, grey and damp here in Zagreb and I too these photos yesterday early morning. Lisa's instructions are so easy to follow! Believe me....I have issues when I need to copy and paste something!

Here are my handmade Fimo buttons......I think I'm going to go back and fiddle with the adjustments on this photo some more when I find a little free time but a huge improvement don't you think!!
Anyways, the kids are up and are demanding breakfast and my FULL ATTENTION!!

Have a great day!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #10

Hi!
Do you love these colours or what!!! Just gorgeous!

First of all....I need a new cutter, paper slicer/trimmer what ever you call it I NEED A NEW ONE! I'm telling you I think I could have done a better job cutting my cardstock with my teeth!!!!!! I was ready to set that thing on fire!! The one I have is X-ACTO that I brought over here from Canada when I was maybe 23-24 years old..........I'm 34 now!!! Since then I have moved two more times and it's been thrown, stepped on....you name it and it is ready to retire!! And if that wasn't enough I ran out of glue!! Don't ask me what I used to finish glueing my card! ;)

Most of you know I make my own fimo buttons and I used one of my new buttons that is flower shaped.......how cute is that!! I also made some adorable heart shaped fimo buttons and I'm feeling another giveaway coming soon that will include flower and heart shaped buttons!

For this card I used Making Memories Paperie Rouge and Mocha (I just LOVE Making Memories!!). My new Spellbinders Shapeabilities Double Ended Tags came in the mail today so I used that and stamped 'thanks' on it (I used ColorBox chalk ink in Dark Brown). Believe it or not but the stamp that I used and the flower cut outs my sister-in-law found at the Dollar Store.......I don't know what brand it is, it just says Crafts on the package......but what a deal!!

I used my Cuddlebug folder for a little embossing and the tiny cute brads are from Basic Grey.
I'm not too happy with this photo.......if my kids let me ...;)....I'll see if I can take a better photo of this card tomorrow.
Bye for now!!

shoes and flip flops and more shoes!

We are having so much fun with our guests! My kids just love having their cousins around to play with. Tomorrow they will be heading down to the coast (we will be joining them later on). This week with them just flew by! I haven't done much crafts but I did get all my buttons done!! Yippie! So all my winners should be getting their buttons soon!!

Here's my youngest sitting in our car 'driving'!! How sweet is he!!!! Love him!

And I have to say my garden is doing pretty darn good!!

Check out the size of this zucchini!!!!!!!! It was yummy.......made a little stir fry with rice!

Anyways, with our guests leaving us......snif snif....I'll most likely have some more time to do some crafts before we head down to the coast ourselves.......maybe a challenge or two..........maybe another fimo buttons giveaway!!!
Bye for now!!

I'm still here!

Hi!
Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Our guests from Canada have arrived so it's a full house! Also I still have to send my fimo buttons to some of the winners......I'm sorry that it's taking long but please believe me that it's been very hectic around here lately but by the end of this week I will send them out.
I have decided for my next giveaway that I will FIRST make the buttons then announce a giveaway so that I don't have you all waiting because it does weight heavy on me that some of you are still waiting. I'm learning as I go so please be patient with me!! :)

Lucy received her button and you can see for yourself what she has to say about them here:

Anyways, that's it for me.....have a good day!!

I just love storage!

Hi!

This is just a quick post.........wanted to share this lovely find of mine!! Yesterday I went to the store Casa here in Zagreb (it's a store with nice things for your home......from towels to dishes to vases.........) to buy some towels and next to the towel section I spot this! And I find out that everything in the store is 20% off and towels 30% off!! Don't you love it when you stumble on to a sale like that!!!
This bucket is just perfect for storing my pencil crayons (I have Derwent) and the 5 Copic markers I own........yes 5!! I don't know whether I should laugh or cry!! I'll laugh........life is way too short! And anyways, I plan on buying more copics......they are expensive but I think worth it!

Well, that's it for me! Two more days and a plane load of relatives from Canada are coming to stay with us! And I still have lots to do!! Yikes!
And by the way I appreciate all who stop by and to all who leave comments.......it feels less like I'm talking to myself now! ;)
Bye and have a great day!

Color Inspiration #54 take two

Hi!
Yes, I changed my entry! I wasn't happy with the first one. Being new to this I'm overwhelmed by all the amazing cards and layouts that sometimes I find myself trying to reproduce something else instead of taking all the inspiration and doing 'my thing' and trusting my heart.... so this is me trusting my heart. Someone (can't remember their name) from the Hero Arts Flickr group gave me amazing advice (I have to thank her) and that is to take a break from all the eye candy and blogs and to just do your own thing!

This card is me.

I so love the colours in this challenge. Basically I used my nestabilities to make the circles....the buttons are my handmade fimo buttons. I used Making Memories Tag Maker to frame my XOXO stamp.
Have a great day!

Caardvarks!

Hi!
I had this idea in my head for a while but just never had the time to do it..........nothing like a challenge to get you motivated! ;) I don't know if this qualifies for this challenge but I'll give it a go anyways. The challenge is depth perception.
I saved this frame (the glass broke and I can't even remember what was in the frame) having in mind I'd do something with it. So.........I spray painted it white....

.....drew a heart, cut it out and used my pink chalk ink to 'colour it in'. I hand stitched a frame around the heart............all I know is I have to learn how to use a sewing machine!!

(this is my cut out)

I made a bunch of buttons out of fimo in various shades of PINK!........have you all figured out who I had in mind making this for???!!! Yes my daughter! She loves PINK and HEARTS!! I did add a few Making Memories and Basic Grey buttons but most of the buttons are mine.

Here's a project I made (this isn't brand new but I never entered it into any challenges). I made an origami gift box for baby Klara. We went to see her for the first time and I bought some clothes and didn't have any wrapping paper so I decided to make my own gift box.

And here I wrapped up two boxes of chocolate (like the way candy bars are wrapped so they didn't have to unwrap it, just pop out the chocolates from the sides) for my sons preschool teachers just to say thanks for the amazing work they do with the kids.

That's it!
Have a great day!

fimo buttons sneak peek!

Hi!
Here's a little sneak at the fimo buttons I made for the winners of my 2nd fimo buttons giveaway! Very COLOURFUL!!

So what have I been doing lately...............COPICS!! I'm loving these markers and want them ALL!!! I only bought a few to test them out on some digi images I bought at All That Scraps........love that place!!. How cute is this Sugarplums Waving Ema!!

My husband pointed out to me that our relatives from Canada are coming in a week!!!!!! I thought it was two weeks!!!!!!! AAHHH! I'm so behind in everything!
I won't be making many cards during the summer not because our relatives are in the way but because I don't have a room or desk where I do my stuff..........I do it in the kitchen and on the kitchen table and I really don't feel like making a mess with a full house!

Anyways, that's all for now! Bye!

A Stylish Challenge!

Hi!
Okay first of all I'm so excited that Betsy's having a challenge!! And what great timing! Our best friends are baptising their cutie Klara this weekend and let me tell you.....she may only be (almost) 4 months.......but she's already a girly girl!!!! So I'll be giving this card to my kobasica along with some gold earings..................and I loves me earings!!!! Some would say that I'm obsessed! ;)

I got my inspiration from the Pottery Barn for kids! I love to look at Pottery Barn for inspiration....they have got such beautiful colours and pattern combinations. Just look at these photos!! I'm a nut for polka dots, gingham and floral patterns!! I also had my daughter in mind doing this card.....she's the reason for all the PINK in this card! I use to hate pink but now I LOVE it!

I really love those sheets (the ones with the trees and owls) and because I'm limited (don't have many stamps as I'm still pretty new to all this but I'm building up a pretty nice collection of stamps) so I used My Cute Stamps SPUNKY NATURE to create a similar pattern..............I think I over did it with all the pattern on this card! he he I drew the tree trunks with brown marker.

I love the photo of the bedding........all the different colours and patterns all layered together! That's how I love my beds! The more pillows and blankets the better!! So I added a lot of layers to my card. My daughter (who is 4) insisted that I put the 'pink diamond' on the top corner!

The blue button is my own handmade fimo button. I took this picture in my daughter's room on her dresser that I painted a yummy shade of yellow! Do you see the framed photo of her behind my card........she was 3 months old and if you're wondering what's on her back.....I put butterflies (not real ones ;)) on her!

Okay, now I really really need to go do some cleaning!! Bye!
P.S. forgot to mention that I drew and hand cut the butterflies.

Background Stamping

Hi!
Here's a card I made for the Hero Arts challenge which is all about using Hero Arts background stamps in other ways than just for 'backgrounds'. In this card I used it for my background and to make my tree. The button is my handmade fimo button that is more and more looking like an Oreo cookie!!

Bye for now!

Crochet Embellishments

Hi!
Last night I saw Nichole Heady's step by step instructions on how to make your own crochet flower embellishments! Soooo darn cute and super easy! So here's a very quick card I did this morning using Nichole's pattern for a crochet flower and I also used one of my handmade fimo buttons (which by the way......I'm having another fimo buttons giveaway.......every one's welcomed to play along!)
